Vehicles in Germany's City Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement State

Authorities reported they were contacted by a resident who noticed a car in Hanau marked with red-colored substance

Approximately 50 cars have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.

Cars, walls and postboxes were marked, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they stated in a official communication.

Law enforcement state they were notified late on Wednesday night, when a resident observed that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued liquid.

The fluid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Officers then found many other marked automobiles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws banning the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement report preliminary tests suggest the liquid was most likely human blood.

"At present there remains no lead as to its origin; investigators are not yet cognizant of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they commented.

City officials stated they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for details.

A senior representative commented the incident rendered him without words and had to be resolved promptly.

"This event hits the core of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the far-right violent incident half a decade ago," he stated on a platform, referring to the killing of nine victims by a assailant targeting residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
